The Race is … Over. July 21, 2010

Filed under: Volunteer — seattleworks @ 10:28 pm

This weekend over 40 Seattle Works volunteers spent their Saturday at Pyramid Alehouse, and 22 other locations throughout Seattle. Why? Because City Chase, the world’s largest urban adventure came to town, and Seattle Works was chosen as their charitable partner. Not only did the event raise over $4,000 for Seattle Works, it also gave volunteers a chance to watch participants eat bugs, throw fish at Pike’s, and get down to their “unmentionables” while trying to bowl a strike!

Good times were had by all, and I received an especially nice note from a volunteer who worked with her daughter at a Chase Point. Patti said, “We saw the gamut of full tilt participants and people out to enjoy the day and their city and what it has to offer.  The full range of life.  So fun and inspiring for Kaelyn and for me.”

So there you have it, a fun, inspiring, and exhilarating Saturday well spent. Jealous that you didn’t participate? Keep your fingers crossed that the race will be back to Seattle next summer!

A big thank you to all our volunteers for donating their time and effort to this event!
