So, the weather has been pretty terrible these past few days, but that won’t stop us at Seattle Works! We can usually find something that will put a smile on our faces, and we especially love hearing great feedback about our teams.

One of our Hands on Leadership Teams from the Fall 2010 round has been working hard at Marra Farms. Leah Saltzman, Kate Thibault, and Jennica Prescott have been working with Lettuce Link/Solid Ground at their Marra Farms site in South Park to develop a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program. This program would bring more fresh food to the South Park community as well as bring in some extra revenue for the farm. The team wrote the whole business plan for the CSA program from scratch, in conjunction with Sue McGann from Solid Ground. Once the plan was approved, they helped them pack the boxes after the June harvest.

Lettuce Link and Solid Ground are thrilled with the work that has been done and we all hope that this can be an ongoing program that will continue at the farm.

The ladies also got to witness their first, happy customer with her new box!

Congratulations everyone!
