At Seattle Works, we know giving your money–as well as your time, skill and voice--is one of the ways you can engage in your community. Back in August, we launched Chip In, a new event that allows you to do just that. Show up, meet fantastic folks, drop $20 and contribute to a few incredible projects that Seattle Works volunteers and partner organizations are leading in the community.
In 2013, we’ll keep Chip In going–but we’re also taking giving to the next level with a new collective giving program. The program will bring together 10-15 people to go through grantmaking boot camp, pool their resources and make a significant gift to a Seattle Works partner organization. The group will meet over the course of 6-8 weeks, building relationships with each other and gaining the skills they need to be responsible givers. As with any Seattle Works program, it’ll be fun AND impactful.
We’re still ironing out the details of this program–and doing so with an awesomely talented group of folks from around the community.
Last Thursday, we had our second Task Force meeting, to finally put in place some of the program details. We thought we’d share some of the pictures from our whiteboard brainstorm–it’s going to get interesting!
