Seattle Works is lucky enough to be located in the Hearing, Speech, and Deafness Center. And we love our location sandwiched between Capitol Hill, Madison Park, and the Central District. In front of the building on the corner of 19th and Madison is a patch of grass with some bark creating a shortcut. What you may not know is that a group of community members are working with the Parks department to transform this into a brand new park!

This past Tuesday we held a general meeting! There was representatives from HSDC, Central Co-Op, the Parks Department, and a ton of engaged neighbors. Not to mention we had guests from the Broadway Hill Park showing us the ropes.

Now that we’ve had two public design meetings we’re whittling down the designs into the best one. You should vote!

Join an action team and show off your skills– we have openings in the interim use team, fundraising team, design team, and outreach team. Just shoot an email to parkat19thandmadison@gmail.com and get involved! After all- it’s your community.
